Letchworth State Park

Letchworth State Park, the "Grand Canyon of the East", the jewel in the New York State Parks' crown. It boasts at least three towns as its "gateway," but Perry is the only one with a bookstore open daily, offering wi-fi, espresso, and more.

Our Local Interest section holds many new and used books on Letchworth. Photography books with breathtaking images of the park's beauty, information on William Pryor Letchworth (proprietor of the park - read about him here!), books on Mary Jemison (the "White Woman of the Genesee," indian captive and historic figure, whose grave rests in the park with a statue of her on its marker), and a whole lot of history, from its ghost towns to its grand canyon to its role in the Civil War.

If you're visiting the park, come by our store and read up on it! Pick up a photobook to remember it by, or just come in to town and talk with the locals to learn the best spots to see in the park!
